Sharol Buck serves as the Director of Communications at Historic St. Mary’s City (HSMC), where she leads the museum’s communications, marketing, public relations, and brand strategy. She joined HSMC after spending more than fifteen years performing with a Baltimore-based touring children’s theater company. Initially hired as a museum guide, Sharol advanced through several roles, managing public programs and group tours before transitioning from the Education Department to External Relations. Her broad experience across the organization provides a unique perspective on connecting audiences with the museum’s mission.
Sharol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her background in performance and storytelling has naturally evolved into a career in public history, where she is passionate about interpreting the many complex stories of the people who lived, worked, and shaped the landscape now known as Historic St. Mary’s City. Through strategic communications and engaging storytelling, she strives to make history relevant, accessible, and meaningful for today’s audiences.
